It’s no secret that I love a crafty project, and my latest one has been generating a soy candle recipe with the perfect fragrance for my new general store. It’s my latest addiction. What’s not to love about melting soft, creamy flakes of soy wax, blending and sniffing fragrance oils and sticking and securing wicks. It’s just like cooking, just on a different level. I’m happy to report that I’m almost there after 300 pours, with plenty of family, friends and dhm staff the guinea pigs who took my treasures home and were required to report back. My wonderful friend Georgia – who has incredibly high standards of herself and of me has given them the big tick. (Passing the ‘Georgia’ test being the ultimate sign-off in my book!) The biggest downside is the clean up. Soy wax and oils make for a long and rigorous cleaning process. But I’m sure it’s all been worth it – you can make up your own mind when you visit the donna hay general store. I hope they get your tick of approval.
